Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Good idea to remove the plaque and pass them onto a youth group. Our scout group has just decided to start doing scout of the year, cub of the year, etc with a shield and we have had local people sponsor the shield but if this had been asked a month or so ago I could have offered to rehome 3 to my scout group. I'm sure schools or other youth groups would take them if they look quite generic and not too personalised.

Can you take glasses to most opticians? I have a few old pairs and wondered what to do with them

At the weekend I got rid of two bookcases (via Freegle) and three suitcases-full of books (to a charity shop). There is now a lot more space in the living room!

I watched the first Marie Kondo thing the other day, so inspired by her was I that I have marie kondo'd my drawers and the children's drawers and have created space, lots of space! It's wonderful. I've also managed to send off 3 parcels this week to various places, so that's stuff that's gone. I went through all the old drawings that the children did and to a photograph of them and so now have only half a dozen or so pictures as opposed to billions of unrecognisable pictures, donated books. I've sorted out my college coursework from last year and some other bits and bobs. I've really enjoyed it and will watch the next episode in the hope that I will continue with this. Our wheelie bin which is usually only about 1/2 full (per fortnight) is already 3/4 full and it doesn't get collected until Thursday.

Well done purps šŸ‘. That sounds very satisfying. I do love a good declutter.

But also...it makes me think more about minimalist living.

It’s different when you have children...they grow, and their needs change.

".... This month, each of you must get rid of one thing on the first day. On the second, two things. Three items on the third. So forth, and so on. Anything can go! Clothes, furniture, electronics, tools, decorations, etc. Donate, sell, or trash. Whatever you do, each material possession must be out of your house—and out of your life—by midnight each day."
