Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I'm a recent convert to porridge.

Some absolutely splendid newts today.

I don't have a real one (yet) but I do have the beginning of one. SweetPea has been talking a lot about what she wants to do next- i.e. after A'levels. We've had everything from a gardening apprenticeship to an astrophysics degree. I was looking at a couple of unis with her today and saying that if I had my time again, I'd study something like neuroscience. It got me thinking that it's not too late. I might not want or need another degree, but I can still study, and I can study pretty much anything.

So I've spent the last hour or so browsing the OU website. Ideas are forming :-)

Great idea, WA. Something I’m seriously considering when I get my teaching pension lump sum next spring.

I got the creatine capsules from H&B, they might be dearer than powder/shakes but it's much easier to remember and routinely take tablets than make shakes or whatever.
Still "loading" 6 tabs every morning, then it goes down to 2 x 2.
I just want to maximise my chances of keeping some muscle whilst trying to lose weight.

WA - the number of times I've perused UCAS and thought about applying to do a different degree - I could get a student loan and never have to pay it back - and I keep bottling out.

Neuroscience would be great WA. I dabble as part of my job. It’s fascinating.

About This Thread

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
