Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Some disappointing newt confectionery on here today it seems. Keep at it folks!!

I did a meet today, watch Stan n Ollie with my mum this evening. It was alright.
She was particularly delighted at the part of the movie when they played the empire in Glasgow in 1953, as she was there! She’d have only been 11.

Also I managed to stuff a load of empty cereal and bread packets in the plastic recycling bin outside Waitrose, put on my avoideveryone mask and sauntered into Nero for a takeout coffee. A long time since I’ve had one of those, as I’m wfh it seems unnecessary to get takeout

Just reviewed the thread for today, trying to pick a newt of the day. I feel like a contestant on The Generation Game trying to remember them all! Going to have another recap in the morning, in case there are any last minute entries :-)

My Newt for today: I manaed my first ever Zoom session!!! With a friend in the States who lives part in my village part in Sag Harbour and I haven't spoken to her in many months, as she initially was stuck here for 9 months, unable to see her aging father, and now she is stuck there for many months, because she is not allowed into the Uk. It was so fab to talk and catch up on each other's news :D

New jeans arrived today. First new pair in a long time. Last ones were from the Red Cross shop but with all the charity shops closed and down to my last pair, I had to buy brand new.

I need new jeans but can't face buying online. Or, in fact, in a shop.

Ooh Mazlin, which test are you doing? I did Dressage Online a few times when I had my Mo. She was good at it, me not so much.

About This Thread

Maintained by Sharkie
starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
