Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

What a medal!!

Speedy I can’t believe they don’t have an app for barcodes yet it would make everything much easier

My newt today my business have developed lunch and learn sessions so we can tell employees about different things. I decided to do one today to talk about ethics what we can help with who we are etc. It’s over lunch & voluntary. I expected maybe 1/2 dozen coming started I had 20 figuring it was a good turnout I started. Closed presentation down I had 55 people! And apparently now hold the record for highest attendance. Feedback was positive. Chuffed I did it - it’s totally out of my comfort zone presenting to people & by telecon it’s even harder

GG that’s impressive. Delivering online is so completely different. You get more immediate feedback when you do it in person. I can’t ’read the room’ in the same way online.

Well done GG!

I have signed up for the Alps to Ocean conqueror virtual challenge, which will require 96.6 recurring k per month for April, May and June - a reasonably big step up from my current runniest month ever (75k), but since that was January I will hopefully be less put off by weather.

Another newt badge appeared today! It seems after only just getting my 100 mile walking badge last week I’ve earned the next one!

Some great newts again today.
Mine is quite mundane. I've set up a standing order to buy some Premium Bonds each month. No investments seem to have much in the way of reasonable interest rates in the current climate, so I might as well put some money into these. I've been buying a few now and again over the past 18 months but have decided I should put a few £££ away each month to stop me being so frivolous and to cut down on Flanci/kit purchases!

I did that last year GM my car loan was paid and I was squirrelling it away for the time I might want a new one and set up premium bond savings instead it’s growing nicely and a bit further away when Flanci tempts me. A little £25 win last month bought half a skort 🤣

My newt is mundane too. I spent most of the afternoon sitting out in the garden knitting. It was sunny and peaceful and lovely. 😊

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
