Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I'm a feature in the new Fetch podcast. Well, I squeak for a minute or two walking along a beach.

That's a newt. I appeared once before but only as Linds' sidekick.

I got my first new badge of 2021 …. I have visited fetch everyday for 365 days - whoop.

I had to drop hubby off at hospital for spinal injection, so Ellie (the Lakeland terrier) & I went for a walk to the park, it is probably 2yrs since she went to the Park so she was super happy if dogs could smile she was grinning ear to ear. I really didn't want to come back to work.

Hubby home and resting, just hope it helps his back pain and we can get him fully fixed.

I will listen to the podcast on my run tonight and I'll pay attention to your feature sharkie

I went for a run in "town" today - I fancied running somewhere flat for change, and I had to go to B&Q anyway. That's unusual but not a Newt. However I explored a field entrance, got lost in some woods, and came out right alongside the taxiway and runway for Prestwick Airport, with just a small fence between me and where the planes would be if anyone was flying these days! Also got within a few feet of a deer, not sure which of us got the biggest fright!

I got a newt badge too although maybe I should give it back? I went to challenge someone in WSW (the new feature) and then changed my mind because I’m a scaredy cat! What am I scared of ? ‘losing’ I guess 😂 I mean I know I will lose but maybe I’m just not confident in how I will fare against someone up the top of the league, it’s a bit like Ipswich playing Manchester United!

Ooh, I’ve just caught up and seen that I’m yesterday’s winner! He reason I’ve only just seen it is because I’ve had my first proper day at work of the year. Hooray! Also my first bus of the year, and first day wearing grown up shoes 🤣🤣

You certainly are yesterday's winner - your seal spotting was special!

Pick any newt you like from everything that has gone before. Doesn't have to 'just' be the previous 24 hours.

I keep mentioning this as there are a few newts I thought were really quite special but didn't take the fancy of the picker that day. That said the choice is ENTIRELY yours. x

My newts today are newts of the year rather than brand shiny new
- did the school run for the first time this year (happy/sad)
- logged my FIRST RUN of the year, not a walk. It was still a run-walk but my intention was to do more running and I think I did :-)
Also got up to date with life admin, including reserving a book before it's even published in paperback- that IS a proper newt

Listened to a podcast while making tea. I used to listen to radio but it’s not really working for me now

About This Thread

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
