Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

My newts for today-

1. Listening to the fetch podcast while knitting,
2. Mr Ness and I don’t usually buy each other birthday gifts. We usually use the money towards our Easter hols. But as the holiday has had to be cancelled, I’ve told Mr Ness what I would like my gift from him to be. My birthday is later this month so we’ll see if he does buy what I’ve asked for.

My newt for today is driving through Birmingham. We needed to take Nic’s van for a service and MOT to the other side of Brum. I was taken aback by how much greater the cognitive load on me was driving through a city rather than poor long around a town and our village. I haven’t driven any real distance since last October.

I ran a loop through "town" this morning, because that's where my Fetchpoint bug was - for the first time this year I got a "Hi miss" call and wave from kids from "my" old school.

I've missed their cheery greetings and cheeky comments, though they've all grown up so much I struggle to put a name to their faces

[they must have been going into school for their covid tests or something, it was way past normal start time]

I shall have to listen to Sharkie in the podcast later. Not sure I have a newt for today. Once again the much anticipated newt didn't happen so once again I will not sleep tonight. I did throw away about 20 years worth of photos - that would be a newt (or at least a newt for the first time in a good 20 years - probably longer because they were in those snappy snaps folders so none of them were probably taken in the last ten years.)

Am pretty sure what the much anticipated newt is, Baroness - is someone really dragging their heels? Frustrating.

And at least you know what I sound like in real life so won’t be disappointed or alarmed by my soppy voice. I’ve yet to meet anyone who likes the sound of their own voice in actuality.

I did 3 miles run-walk today, longest in ages including a section of over a mile.
Must listen to the pod!

About This Thread

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
