TV really does get worse...! Ours goes on a handful of times a year and Christmas Day is one of those times... I might give the biscuit debate a miss - everyone knows it’s a good old chocolate digestive

Christmas day this year will be at our Daughters with the grandkids and her OH. My OH is on call Christmas Day so will be grumpy no doubt.
Seems strange not having to cook and prep all the food.
Am hoping to sneak out for a run or bike ride in the morning

We will have about 19 people from four generations here on Christmas Eve, then in what seems to me to be an act of unparalleled folly, we mostly meet again at BIL's house on Christmas Day. It's the same just about every year and a few minutes after we meet on Christmas Eve, many of us will have had a year's worth of chatting.
What's probably going to be new this year is that MIL is or thinks of herself as an invalid. We don't know if she'll be driving.
On Christmas Eve the meal is likely to be fish pie which our vegetarian daughter will eat as an act of kindness towards us, but her non-fish-eating husband will need something else.

Christmas here will be for 10, 9 family and partners as well as the one who Charlotte calls their sister from another family (one of Toria's friends who spends more time here than at her own house) I think it's a full house from the Saturday until the Tuesday when 3 are leaving then not sure how long the remaining 2 are staying as they've got open train tickets. There'll be far too much food as usual but everyone will have a great day hopefully.

Turkey is hugely overrated. 3 years back I made Beef Wellington. Mushroon Duxelle the works it was ace. A proper change.

Back a page or 2 ... Cath, re lights. Switched to LED a few years back - now we only have to untangle, not mess about with 'find the dodgy bulb' But we do get to play with the 12 different light sequences before finding the 'just twinkle on and off' settings

Yes definitely ditch the old lights and get LED. Old ones are less safe anyhow. Two of my sets remember I like them on solid. One doesn’t and always picks the frenetic disco setting.
I’m having Christmas dinner at my own house for the first time ever (including childhood when we went to grandparents) and cooking for the first time ever too. Me, the teens and my parents. Really looking forward to it, even though it will be low-key

Our lights are LED as well. Nothing flashes or Twinkles as that would do OH's head in
