Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Well after all that Sabrina is actually doing what Paul did. She has contoured under Stony Cove Pike and gone straight to Hartsop Dodd.

Even if doing Hartsop Dodd as an out and back, surely it makes sense to do SCP on the way out, then contour lower on the way back? Just looking at the contours you're saving 20m or so climb. Plus a bit of distance?

I think it looks deliberate so a change of plan I think. The nature of the ground and the line you want for the best descent to Threshthwaite Mouth makes it more sensible to do Stony Cove Pike on the way back. The map doesn't always tell the full story.

Presumably she's taken an earlier than planned sleep stop given her current splits?

Yep, looks like she stopped at the road crossing before Baystones, rather than at Troutbeck which is after Baystones.

She was 50 mins down on her own schedule before the stop, and at the top of Baystones 2h43m down, so looks like she had her 2 hour break.

After her and Paul's different stop strategies, she's now 25 mins down

She's gained some of that back through Troutbeck as Paul had a break. He summited Sour Howes at the equivalent of 7.41 so the gap there should be more like 10 minutes. Pretty much level pegging after 3 and a bit days. Just over half way!
