Background services are only allowed to get the location a few times an hour. Adding a notification would also give the option of having pause / stop buttons in the notification area for easy access. Apologies if this is all a bit sucking eggs

fetcheveryone May 2020 1:33pm, 21 May 2020 24,059 posts	Quote Pin fetcheveryone I guess it could be Sam, although (a) I've been flying solo for so long, I'm not at all sure that my methods are in line with anyone elses; and (b) a bit of nervousness at opening up anything that gets remotely close to revealing any issues etc. I do have a captive app developer at home at the moment - Katie's eldest - so he might be a good place to start if I can persuade him. From memory, I'd got most of the way there in terms of the absolute basics - but was struggling to keep the service running when the screen goes dark.
