I had tonsillitis last year after my marathon and it completely wiped me out for weeks! I struggled to do any running for quite a while after. Get well soon.
My Achilles has been painful in my right foot (had the same issue since last July) so lots of stretching and massaging it’s feeling better today.

Surrey Phil
First marathon of 2018 completed yesterday - just five minutes slower than I had hoped but I put that down to a lot of puddles and mud which made us a bit more cautious when negotiating. I was aware of two runners who went over! A lot of walkers and cyclists were a bit obstructive along the Thames towpath where it is a bit narrow and it doesn't take much to walk in single file does it?
The course conditions did make the muscles tire a bit sooner than expected but I will try to remain optimistic ahead of the next race in three weeks. That one will have more tarmac but far less scenery, that being the A2 in Kent vs. River Thames in Surrey.

Nice work Phil!
Did my planned 16 miles yesterday and despite flagging a bit towards the end managed the whole lot at my target "easy" pace.
The tiredness was not really unexpected as with getting out for all 4 planned runs this week and having missed odd sessions or in the case of the previous week all 4 it was quite a jump in mileage and my biggest week since September last year.

Actually got out for a decent time yesterday. A 6.85 miler split in half by a mile of walking to keep me out for a bit longer.
I'm feeling it a bit now, but with minimal mid week runs it may be the only way to get back on target.

Argh bliddy foot was niggling again tonight I’ve been sensible and been in touch with Physio for some advice. I am sure that I could do the run as long as I know it’s not causing a massive amount of damage. Wish me luck please.

Good luck GG, fingers crossed for you.
I did 8 miles at half marathon pace with a warm up and cool down yesterday. It was one of those runs where you remember why you love running. The sun was shining and it was my first run with shorts and t-shirt of the year albeit with a short sleeved base layer as well. It felt good to pick up the pace and it felt pretty comfortable for the full 8 miles. If all goes to plan this week I've worked out it will be my highest mileage week ever!

A really unenjoyable 5k plod this morning has regained my . Still about 20 miles off my , but as has been said before, plenty of year left to catch up
Gingers crossed foot niggle is nothing serious.
Your run sounds great Hally, I need one of those "oh yes, this is why I do it" runs. I just really struggled this morning - my head wasn't in the game at all.
