Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Hello, has anyone else noticed a difference in WAVA scores on Fetch vs parkrun?

I noticed that today's parkrun on my Fetch Race List gave me 59.00 but on the parkrun website it's 59.57.

It's not something that bothers me massively but I have a few targets I'm thinking of for next year which focus on WAVA so wondered which was correct?

I think Fetch uses an old Wava calculator. Parkrun a newer different one.

Yes, there is a difference. Fetch uses the most up to date WAVA tables, which are more stringent. You may find that your historical WAVAs and/or Fetch standards have come down as a result.

I don't think parkrun have updated the WAVA tables they use, but fetcheveryone does, so parkrun is giving you a % based on older, out-of-date record times.

There is an option in your fetcheveryone Account Settings > Training Options to use the older 2010 WAVA tables if you want to compare with versions closer to parkrun.

Ah thank you all, I think the sensible thing is to use the higher of the two just from a purely selfish point of view. :-P

If your just comparing Parkruns then use that one but if your wanting to get a Wava % over several distances then be easier to use Fetch WAVA

Yeah good point riggsy - it's more for club standards etc so I'll find out what WAVA they use.

Spot on V'rap. Anything over 60% I'll just declare myself the fastest man on the planet (that's taking part in my challenge) ;-)

For information, there is a new set of tables approved world-masters-athletics.org I wonder whether @fetcheveryone will implement them?
