Hello Lovely Lady @Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs) . Thanks for asking. Don't where I got to on our move but here goes: We were gazundered as you know. Our house went on the market the next day and we got two offers* a few weeks later. In the meantime, the vendor of the house we were hoping to buy received an offer which he accepted. The memo of sale was revised to say whoever got to close to exchange of contracts first of us and the other purchasers would get the house. Charming. So now we were in a race and were now a handful of weeks behind in the process and getting set up to be gazumped. We felt that moving ahead with our sale and being prepared to rent if we missed out on this house was the best way going forward. Then, a house we looked at the start of all this, popped back on the market. It was on for 100k too much last year and we couldn't make sense of the price in relation to the rest of the road. The newly appointed estate agent shared the same view. We put an offer in a couple of weeks ago which was accepted so here we go again π€. *The two offers were from such lovely people. Our neighbours know each respective set. As these two potential purchasers knew of what had happened to us, one got one set of neighbours to pop by and give some background to show they were committed and the other wrote a letter to us. |

Two houses we liked the look of have been sold only a couple of days after coming on the market. We will have to ask our agent why he can't perform the same trick.

Frustrating, @ChrisHB, but at least it suggests that there is more life in the market this year than there was last year. Hopefully it means that chains are starting to be created and it makes it more likely that your viewers - when the agent finds them for you - will be "proceedable" (ugh!).

How rude of me to ask a question to then not respond to the answer π€¦πΌββοΈ Please accept my apologies DIY Diva π It's all sounding quite positive now, my fingers are firmly crossed for smooth progress π€ x |

Just attempting to catch up. Left Blackpool this morning, stopped for some essentials, picked up keys this afternoon. Bedroom hoovered, bed made. Most kitchen cupboards washed out. Came out to get stuff from son's and some tea. I'm typing this waiting for fish and chips. |

Our agent is nw advising a price drop of another Β£50,000 following two of Β£25,000. I don't know how to begin to think about that but my wife is treating it as water off a duck's back, just as I did the earlier two. Planning to view 5-6 houses on Tuesday & Wednesday next week. |
