Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I have no pearls of wisdom about SUPing. I met a chap at the beach here and had in interesting discussion about using paddle as rudder so you don't have to switch sides constantly. He had been taught to just switch sides which seems inefficient to me. I guess it's the same principle as the J stroke that was mentioned before. My attempts at SUPing have been on little Loch and in a pool.

I like the look of SUPing...I don't live close enough to any reasonable body of water I'd want to do it in at the moment. We have a nice Sevylor inflatable canoe that's had a couple of small outings, ages ago.

Swans yesterday moved away if we approached. Must be tamer in England / Wales!

Heron x 3, swans x 20 plus, some with signets. Some ace low flying formations and landings. Lots of other ducks and water birds that I can't identify. Lovely way to unwind after busy week. Dog is getting a bit more settled. Still yelps at OW swimmers! :-) G

This was Lough Erne a couple of weeks ago.

I pulled up at this bench for a bite to eat. (The bottle wasn’t mine. I had a flask of tea)

This is another favourite spot for a picnic. It’s on one of the little islands that are dotted around this end of the Lough. Some of the islands are used for grazing cattle and some are reserves for breeding curlew and lapwing. This one is just wooded, with a very basic bench to sit on and enjoy the view.

That does look lovely. I've not been out on my kayak at all this year. But enjoying your pictures. :-)
