Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Odd updated app as well and not there.

Checked on watch, 16.33, 34.21, 75.53 and 2.38. Not wildly out, about 15s per mile faster than performances in last 6-12 months.

Presumably not there because you have an older watch as those predictions are from the old predictor.

It's a 645 music so about 3 years old I think. How can you tell they are old predictions? If the data is on the watch I can't see why it wouldn't transfer to app like lactate threshold or hrv does etc.

The link I posted over the page are old predictions they are basically a chart based on VO2 Max, they show very tight conversions as you move up distances so pretty easy to spot. New ones change almost daily as training load factor into it and marathon can be way out compared to 5k based on training load. The 645 has the old predictor. Can't say why Garmin have made the decisions they've made but they've presumably decided to only support the new predictor on the app.

Might be worth clearing app cache in case it's a bug based on a Google search.

DT - you need to wear your garmin all the time if you want accuracy from it. It includes rest, sleep etc into its calculations.........mine massively underestimates me but I do lots of slow running on hilly routes.

I don’t think there is any process of watch-wearing that generates accurate results. It’s a silly bit of numerology, that’s all.

Not sure I agree. I wear my Coros all the time and my race predictions are usually within reasonable parameters.
