Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

PtB - Hi Paul, can you take me off the sidebar please, definitely not doing Manchester.

Good luck to everyone during your tapers, take care and don't do anything silly and ruin all that hard work you've put in.

Yes Curly Jack Daniels has some tough old workouts even in the easier version of the plan that I have. But fortunately not very many of them.

Good to hear Curly! not so good Gus, nothing too silly left for me in my taper.

At HG request, I have written a wee blog on my Manchester training for anyone that is interested! Not hugely entertaining as it's just a cut, paste and a small edit from the weekly updates I send to my coach. Those who like a LSR might want to steer clear :)

I need a lie down reading your training RussellW... you should smash it. That 23 mile long run is something else. Wow.

Sensible decision though Gus, I'm sure.

Russell, I shall devour. I hope you've done *some* slower, long running though or else marathon endurance is what suffers. I'm sure you'll be good though.

Jda, I did 14 miles, so 23K? at MP in a 20 miler as part of a sort of extended P&D for my longest, hardest MP run. Tough, but builds confidence. :-) G

Gus, thats a shame. You have missed a few over the years which is annoying.

JDA, not often your JD session is more than mine. I have 6 mp, 1 tempo and 6 more MP in an 18 miler this weekend so 21k for me and like HG I think 14 at MP is as much as I have done.

I think technically it's written as 15 miles but I run in km and have rounded up by 1. There are actually two of those at 3 and 7 weeks and another 12-13 mile MP run at 10 weeks. I always swap at least one of these for a raced half however.

OK i shall confess, i am a lazy guy. I do reasonable distance but have little discipline. I want to improve my marathon time to sub3:20 from 3:25 last autumn. I do little structured work. Larkim mentioned running parts of my long runs at marathon pace. How would you plan this, 1:4 ratio?
