Good luck larkim and Chrismean (also canโt help re Valencia) Failed sub 1:30 on Sunday at the coastal half in cleethorpes. 1:30.57 so a course PB. Running into wind miles 5 to 8 ish cost me some time. Happy with last couple of miles feeling strong and able to push on a little. Got Rother Valley half on 5 November hopefully have a go then Headwind is the worst. Believe in you for nov! Ww: all the pics online are marathon ones, when I google it. At least thatโs clear for everyone ![]() |

1:29:53 today for either a perfectly judged sub 90 or a tougher than expected knife edge performance depending on whether you're looking at a half empty or half full glass. Weather not as bad as feared but uphill into the wind was challenging and I nearly let the time slip away with a very brief walk at about 10.5 miles. Slightly disappointed that I didn't leave the course thinking a 1:27:XX was doable on a good day, but it's a HM wava PB so I can't really complain too much. |

Absolutely, take the glass half full! I also found out from Valencia organizers - water in bottles. in case it's useful for anyone else to know! |

Hello all, just popping by on the very unlikely off chance I hit my A goal for next Saturday's Mount Cook half marathon of a sub 1:30. It would obliterate my PB. Realistically, its likely to be my B goal of sub 1:35 (probably 1:33 ish judging by training), but hey, an old man can dream can't he? Carry on.

Good Luck Mark. Just had a quick peek at your profile. Mileage has changed massively for you this year, so that will put you in a good stead on Sunday. Whats the plan? What pace you going out at? |

No harm in giving it a go! Think I went sub 90 on a day when I'd reckoned my best was likely to be 1:32. Run well, give a crack!!

Good luck Mark J ๐ณ๐ฟ I'm looking to finalise plans for a sub 6mm pace attempt (probably sub 78 as well given how close that is) at the Great Eastern Run on 15 Oct this weekend. I ran 8.16 miles in 48:02 which is 5:53mm on a 0.8 mile loop (so 10 laps with 0.16 extra to get to 48 mins) yesterday so feels doable in race conditions. Would be a season ender with a couple of weeks off running/ easy after. |
