Sorry to hear that Daz. Get yourself fixed and come back stronger.

Chris, surely you still have time. Things were going nicely. No need to write it off yet….

Cheers WW

Chris - Will be 3 weeks on Wednesday since I run. Probably got another 3-4 weeks to go before I can even think about getting out.

I'm not so sure ww. I'm not likely to be running this week so that leaves 8 weeks training but with a need to taper for 2 weeks only leaves 6 weeks of training... Not a great deal of time to get to where I want to be.

How was the half marathon?

Oh, that's a shame Daz - and Chris - looked like you were both on course for good improvements this time round.

Fell race for me today, only marginally faster than same event last year but a much higher position, think it was much boggier and slower overall so I'm reasonably happy with that. Hoping to get out tomorrow first thing for the long run that I missed this weekend, weather forecast looks good too.

22 Miler done yesterday but really struggled near the end with energy. Something didnt feel normal but I'm wondering if it was just depleted reserves from being ill. Lost a fair bit of weight so imagine the tank was empty. I'm gonna rejig my plan to get a few more longer ones in, maybe at a slower pace just incase this is a weakness I've found. Feel all the other sessions I'm nailing tho

Jenno - almost certainly the illness but no harm in putting some more long ones in! Between those and the taper I'm sure you'll be right.

Chris - I ran the HM at TMP in the end as part of a 21 miler. I'm struggling a bit with jet lag despite it only being 4 hours time difference from Dubai and that plus the wind made the last few miles of the MP section quite hard. I ran 88:30 though which was the target and overall 21 miles @ 7:04 avg so can't complain.

Good stuff jenno, sounds like you're well on the road to recovery.

WW, well done for taking the sensible option I don't know if I could have held back in a half.

Sounds like you need a bit of feeding up Jenno. I had a big roast dinner last night, this morning's long run was a bit sluggish but ok all things considered. Even felt to be recovering a bit by the end. Colder and windier than I'd hoped for, but any run with sun at this time of year is a bonus really.

Parkrun for me last Saturday about 10 seconds faster per mile than pmp and 6m xc yesterday averaging 7:30 pace. Off road marathon on Saturday which I'm intending to use as a long training run, see how it goes to 20m then may push on a little if I have the stamina.
