Perhaps benches are now recycled plastic but we bought one for my Gran not a million miles from Crosby and after a few years it disappeared. We hadn't realised we were responsible for the upkeep and it had become dangerous and was removed.

He helped me more than he realised, and less than I appreciated many years ago. Crosby parkrun on Saturday it is. I’ll be forever grateful for our interaction on this website, and our shared love of the Ironmen. It’s time to re-engage with Fetch perhaps.

Never met him in person but always came across as a lovely man.

If you read about his nightly beach runs you could almost have been running along beside him.

He always encouraged others especially on the How was your run thread.
