Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

[_andy and I always say that one Stevce, after a combined sailing and hill running race that we took part in where we were both pretty sea sick in the sailing sections and failed to complete the race. Almost any run, even marathons, ultras etc. were a doddle after that!]

jelly (limegreenjelly)
Well I’d just like to say that one of my worst experiences did happen at sea, we sold the yacht shortly after that experience! The trouble is when you are bouncing around chained to a boat in all the gear you are stuck at the mercy of the wind and the waves, for however long it takes, I asked mr jelly several times was it time to call the lifeboat out, but mr jelly had it all under control, he still misses it, me and the youngun don’t miss it at all!

that's the thing jelly, a lot of these proverbs are obviously *not* bollocks, and are either very true, or certainly have a kernel of truth about them.

They've stood the test of time for a reason!

On never judging a book by its cover ... sometimes, I think you probably on pretty safe ground if you do.

I like that McG :-) (page 2, second post).

I bought Only Forward by Michael Marshall Smith purely on the strength of a rather unusual abstract design on the cover. It still remains one of my favourite books.
