I will make sure I follow a local...
On the Clair parkrun measurement, I got to a PC and downloaded the garmin data. Sure enough on the top bend its a bit all over the place with the garmin record. You'd think I had taken 5 different paths but in effect its a pretty narrow path at that point so I would expect the lines to overlay more (possibly doesnt help being under the trees for a way).

Forest of Dean is a crazy parkrun, I would have got lost for sure if we weren't following the blind runner...

I was at Tamar Trails yesterday, what a beautiful course. All trails, through wood and with a few hills (main one at the end). Not too crowded, I think about 160 there. Thoroughly recommend it if you are in West Devon or East Cornwall.

Once again thwarted in trying to be a Parkrun tourist, this time at Hereford. We were there to attend a wedding, but having found that I had left my shaver at home, I had to go shopping instead ☹️. Some people can carry off the two day rugged unshaven look, but I just look like a scruff!
Holiday in Suffolk coming up so hopefully a couple of opportunities there 🙂

I will be at Hereford again first week of December with friends. You will empathise with the horses as you basically run around the racecourse twice. If I recall correctly. Still at least i won't have a saddle and rider.

I aimed to run under 25 minutes yesterday as part of my comeback from injury. 500 metres or so from the finish funnel I stopped for about ten seconds as another runner was doubled up by the side of the route - when he managed enough breath to say he didn't need any help I sprinted off to try and make up for lost time, and stopped my watch at 24:59 after crossing the line.
Sadly the parkrun karma fairy missed my act of kindness, and I ended up with the time of the finisher behind me, 7 seconds slower. :D

Charlie, at least YOU know that you achieved your goal even if it is not officially recorded as such. Good on you for being a considerate runner

Forest of Dean is simple enough route to follow if you look at the sign posts. Just ignore anything you may have seen on the route map online as that will just confuse you. I managed to 1st finisher it having never run it before or having any idea about the route.
I can see that it is actually harder to find your way around if further back in the field though and you are just following the person infront, who you then loose sight of. Then you'll not be looking out for the signposts and miss them as you were trying to follow someone else instead.
