Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

The response could be labelled a more neutral 'abstain', but we need a response to capture what we have considered, but have no opinion on one way or the other.

Iirc it was added so people could "vote" without really voting, I've abstain but have the request marked as voted. Saves people voting yes/no just for the completeness of voting on everything when actually they don't care

I use Meh for things that just don't affect or interest me. Something to do with the training log or a game I don't play? Meh.

That way I know I've read it and won't have to re-read it next week when I'm asked about open votes.

"Meh" was of its time when the feature was introduced but I'd be happy to see it changed to Abstain.

I only use No when it’s something I don’t think should be introduced, there’s not many of those. Meh is for things I’m not fussed about as there’s a limited number of Yes votes I can cast.

I use 'Meh' for 'Couldn't care less' or 'Doesn't impact me'.
Whereas as others have said, 'No' is reserved for something I disagree with.

(although some politically aware people may use 'No' to mean "Don't spend time on that, spend time on the things I'm in favour of" )

I always assumed that "meh" was the equivalent of an abstention (maybe "whatever - doesn't affect me"), whereas I reserve "no" for things that I generally don't think are a good idea.

I'd change 'meh' to 'read'. It sounds insulting to say I'm not interested, when I often just mean I'm not a cyclist so have seen it and don't have an opinion.

I'd also introduce a 'black ball', doing the opposite of gold and saying 'please don't'. It feels like that would be a better measure than no, which as um says could just mean don't use energy rather than I oppose.

Thanks all.

Something to do with the training log or a game I don't play? Meh.

Meh to me feels like No, so in this scenario Meh suggests the game might not develop if it has non-players vote No or Meh even if the idea is a good one.

Perhaps "not relevant to my use of FE" would be a clearer response option.

I could put it to the vote as a feature suggestion, but that could all go a bit Votey McVoteface as everyone votes Meh for a giggle 😃
