Looks like Garmin are forcing everyone to switch to Express eventually... forums.garmin.com |

I had to get Express to update the maps on my satnav. It said it would deactivate ANTagent as part of the process. I have not tried to load training to Fetch since, but I bet it won't be simple!

Having said on the much shorter thread that I was happy to use Garmin Express to sync, and then import FIT files to Fetch 'manually' - but last night Garmin Express wouldn't sync at all with my 310, no matter what I tried. Got fed up in the end and uninstalled Garmin Express and re-installed Ant Agent again, so I'm back as-you-were. Hope to not need Express any more... |

The Ant Agent crashes 5 times a day on my Windows Vista Business laptop (not my lappie, so I can't cahnge it). Latest software updates all installed etc. but I can't do anything to fix. Must be clashing with something but I can't work out waht. It's a right ache. Each time it crashes, it loses the device settings and I haev to repair. 4 or 5 times a night. Argh! ![]() |

FYI for my own future-proofing, I've downloaded and backed up copies of the ANT agent and plugin. Maybe worth doing that if you want to be able to go back to it on a new machine say. Garmin say: "Garmin is not terminating, or limiting access to the Garmin Communicator Plug-in. Some of the browser manufacturers have announced their intention to stop supporting the plug-in API that GCP uses. Garmin has no control over this as it’s being done by the browser manufacturers, not Garmin." However, I think it's fair to say that they're encouraging users to move to Garmin Express, and part of that process is the automatic removal of ANT agent. |

:-)G - I was getting multiple crashes on my home machine (which is WinXP, so that may have something to do with it) However I uninstalled the latest version of ANT Agent and went back a couple of revisions and it is stable again. I'm not at home so I can't recall the exact version, nor could I see it on the Garmin site, but luckily I'd kept the old version so could re-install |

Ah, I may have kept old installs too Ian. Good shout. I'll try that. Annoying that new updates should be less stable than old versions. ![]() |
