Nelly, had suggested the following for Fetchpoint but I'm not local to Manchester so no idea what make sense.... JK, JennyWren... any thoughts??? I'd have thought the top of Brooklands Rd (convenient for the Metro) would make a resonable place for a fetchpoint, to see runners at 8&15 miles, although maybe that is a little early in the run. Alternatively, Chester Rd (near Stretford Metro stop) would see runners at 5&25 miles. |

for me I need to move SODette's to finish line when Mrs SOD goes past me...I'm not sure on the logistics and/or transport links around the area but I suspect either will be OK for me.

SOD - I'd suggested the above locations based on their proximity to Metrolink stations, making logistics relatively easy for those wanting to get back into the city centre or back to race HQ. The Manchester City Centre to Altrincham Metrolink (http://www.metrolink.co.uk/) line includes stops at Old Trafford (0.5mile walk from the football ground/finish), Stretford (0.25mile walk from approx 5/25mile points on race route), Brooklands Rd (0mile walk from approx 8&15mile points on race route), and Altrincham (0mile walk from approx 11mile point on race route). Trams are approximately every 12mins on a Sunday, so moving around with the SODette's should be quite straight forward.

Both look do-able - when would our cheering and rowdiness be most appreciated?

Training going well. Legs still feel good after the first 4 weeks. Longest run only 14 miles so far but my plan is very structured and in no rush to get to the 20s yet. Anyone got any races as part of their training? Such as Liverpool Half?

Hi Roberto I've got the Helsby HM this weekend (weather permitting of course) then Coniston 14 in March which is a nice underlating run to test the legs. Both will be used for training as LSRs as I'm just keeping it all nice and steady as well - just want my legs to get used to 20milers What have you got planned? |

I did Helsby last year, but with lack of training until 4 weeks ago, It didnt seem worth it this year. And Netherhall 10 miler in Feb, Liverpool Half or Stafford half in March and a local one, St Georges 10k 2 weeks before. They are the only 3 ones in my plan and have been told to race them properly. May do the odd parkrun and local race if any appear. May check out Coniston 14 instead of Liv Half though as its closer.
