Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I just feel old and knackered!! Either that or I’m still recovering 5 months on (and with little consistency since) from the Old County Tops.

I can’t even really blame Covid as I’ve had it twice at least and neither time affected me too much beyond a month at most.

I did manage 9 miles tonight on the moors and about the first time I was able to run a few hills without much walking since May.

In the spirit of trying to engender some comment and interaction from the FE fellrunners:

I'm just trying to recover from cv19, so tonight's run was never going to be rapid, however I managed a nice 7.5mile loop from Helwith Bridge up to the Western flank of Pen y Ghent then back via Dubs Gate, it was hellishly windy so not safe to go much higher. Back home now and it's still hellishly windy.

It's one of the biggest days on the fell running calendar this Saturday with the FRA Relays taking place in Braithwaite near Keswick in the Lakes. I'm running the very short leg 1 for my club's V50 team which is not my ideal and I'm just hoping I'm not too embarrassed to be handing over late.

The routes are all around the Coledale Horsehoe area. Leg 2 looks the best with a trip over Coledale Hause, Crag Fell, Sail and Causey Pike. I think every leg goes over Barrow. Hoping the worst of Babet will have blown through by then.

Club is sending a few teams - looks an insane race but also with the weather 😳

Hope it goes well Simon.

I've always enjoyed the relays, even though they have sometimes been navigational disasters. Hopefully this Saturday goes well.

Think NLFR are sending 3 teams. We wanted 6!

I'm still broken, so won't be there.
