Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

We did the Hobble in 8:something last year on the way back from K's injury woes on a walk/run, and were still quite a way from the back.

Not sure we'll be much quicker this year 😂

Yup. Or at least will be trying to!

If anyone needs a Trog place I've got one spare - just been told I'd already entered Pendle Way in a Day on the 1st! Not sure how I'll get around 50 miles, but it's probably the easier option of the two :-)

Was considering the Splash .... our problem is that it's very similar to the ALS and we did that just over a week ago! On balance, I think we might go up the Dale a bit this weekend and try and get some more climb in our legs. Lakes look wet and windy, otherwise that's where we'd be.

Not doing Splash - unusually for me, the later start time that the Penistone Hill races have doesn't work for me this week - wouldn't be able to run round, then get back in time for a vets hockey match in the afternoon.

NE - usually it's end of Jan isn't it? So despite similiarity to ALS, it's usually not too bad - but I agree just over a week between the two when they're so similar isn't great (especially those flipping fields!)

What's the route like - steep and rocky or an XC-mud-fest?

XC-mud-fest with some track and a sting-in-the-tail-climb. It’s by far the best of the former Woodentops routes imo

DT - I'm going to respectfully disagree with you and say the alternative ALS route to Top'o'stairs is the best former Woodentops route ;-)
