Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

More Trail than Fell, but a nice little video of the New Years Day Race Over the Glens in County Antrim.

Thankfully I didn't make the final cut of the film.....

It was truly horrible, we were soaked through and freezing by the time we got back to Barley. Had to divert to Gargrave for chips and to stand by the cooking range!

Anyone done Tigger Tor? Was looking at possibly doing it. Supposedly a "navigational" fell race, but looks relatively straightforward (ish) - wondered if basically everyone followed like Jack Bloor or whether it did require a modicum of nav.

No nav needed fozzy unless you're right at the front or way off the back. It's just like Jack Bloor, a big field and you'll never be more than a few yards from someone in a decent sized train. I guess if it was zero vis and the train went awol at the front you could go wrong but otherwise you won't have a problem. On a decent day there are also lots of supporters out and about as the route is so accessible, so I suspect you wouldn't have to go far off line before your error was pointed out to you. Local knowledge plays a bigger part than actual nav as there a few places where knowing the right micro line will save you time and gain you places. But basically a x-country race on open moorland with a few rocky bits thrown in.
