Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Grimwith is aptly named. Wild country indeed. Nice one NE!

DT, you'll know this: is partridge shooting common in Yorkshire? I've never seen them before, but they were wandering everywhere at Grimwith. Also found a lot of them hung behind a shooting hut (and pheasant), it's clearly the season.

The OS 3d aerial thingy of that area makes it look very isolated and bleak and rather beautiful. Sounds like a grand day out :)

Grimwith reservoir circuit is a regular weekend dog walk for us and red legged partridge are seen often. A lap of the Red makes a nice recovery run too ;)

Must be pretty isolated - if the local pheasant shoot left theirs hanging like that they'd all be gone in 24 hrs

Anyone done the Goatfell race on Arran ?

Last time I was on Arran was as a 15 or 16 year old on a family holiday and I walked up Goatfell with my dad. Seem to recall it was a long day, hopefully manage it a bit quicker this time round :-)
