We went over to a beach called Playa de As Catedrals, which is famed for its rock formations, which were indeed pretty impressive. It was quite busy down there, but you have to book in advance (which we had, it is free) as the numbers are tried to be controlled. Of course the popular time is low tide, which is when we were there. Highlight of the day yesterday though was a lovely little fishing village called Rinlo. I’d say it probably had about 50 houses, but 3 fish restaurants. We sat on the harbour wall and had a couple of drinks, along with a plate of octopus that we shared - it was stunning. Literally melt in the mouth. Really simple but lovely. We’re here tonight as well (our 3rd night here) and then we’ll be moving over more towards the west coast for a few days, and then back to the mountains I think. We still have a couple more weeks and we’re loving it so far 👍 |

PS, we were talking to a Welsh couple who had travelled all the way down through Spain to Gibraltar, but temps were high-30s down there! We’re staying north anyway, but it’s been good weather here for sightseeing - mid-high 20s at most. In fact, in the mountains, in the mornings it’s fairly chilly but soon warms up.

Last two Fridays in the van I’ve listened to the rain battering off the windows. Tonight I feel like I’m in an episode of Tenko; melting 🥵

A wee bit behind, as we're leaving stornoway tomorrow to head west. fetcheveryone.com/blog/57235/2025/7#501889 I've liked stornoway a lot. |
