Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

My guess is fieldfare most likely and song thrush least likely. Fieldfare have a familiar call, mistle thrush too but different, almost like a metallic raspy clattering rattle. Fieldfare and mistle thrush are maybe 20% larger than song thrush

Hi guys and happy new year. We've just had a bird/duck thing on our front lawn which looks like a moorhen but without the red beak - any ideas what it is please?

My first thought was a juvenile moorhen but I don't know if it's the right time of year?

I've dug out my photo of one that showed up on my driveway a few years ago. We lived a couple of miles from the river but apparently they do wander.

(I can't work out from the website I had saved that photo to, what time of year the photo was taken).
