Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

[All OK really, TBR, thanks - spent most of the week up in Yorkshire starting to clear Mum's house so we can sell it to fund her care home fees. Sad to dismantle my childhood home!]

Completed this week's fake parkrun earlier, in 29:47. I have yet another virtual race to complete on Saturday!

Finally started running again after a break (since January - oops) - it turns out that walking wasn't amazing preparation as my lungs complained a lot. But I've put both 5k runs in as fake parkruns - 41min (had some hills which required walking) and 35 min (much flatter so a little less walking). The flatter run was around one of my parkrun courses, saw some other folk out running and walking - it felt like a distanced version of friendlly - YAY!

I had a terrible vision of having to cut my fake parkrun short this morning to run home and create a tinder profile as handsome-widower. My OH was just in front of me in windy Wiltshire when a huge branch fell in front of her from a tree. It took me and another passing chap to remove it from the path. We had paused slightly before this to remark on a Macmillan cake stand effort by some old biddies. I am now going back to make their day (well, buy a cake for £40, if that does it)
