Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

WA no! It is a 50 mile round trip and I rarely have anything that cannot be re-used, re-cycled or composted or bonfired. Ashes go on the garden...

Most people there had garden waste, I never have such things... My old sofa was collected by a friend. A light that was too low for my new ceiling was taken by the plasterer, who also took surplus plaster and grout.
The logburner I was not allowed to install has gone to the timber frame guy... And so forth :)

Here's the newt I'm jingling today:

Paddington Rec track was orange last time I was there. It was also floodlit, I arrived by bike having cycled from work in Covent Garden. I was still distance running and I was attending interval sessions with my club, Serpentine.

It's completely different now! Free! But that presents one two difficulties.

It's a good newt tbh. If I don't go to Lee Valley track then it used to be Battersea, and just occasionally Mile End. Not all the trains were running today but I could normally be there in less than an hour and day times in the week it won't be that busy ... but still free. Hurrah. So a good option for dry days if I just want to run.

Must be fifteen years since I was there!

Proper Newt, Sharkie :)

I have hung washing out on the line for the first time this year, and cleaned the visible parts of the cooker including the inner glass on the door of the one working oven for the first time in many years. It's a range, one oven and several rings haven't worked for years and it needs replacing, but I'm not getting a new cooker until I'm one million per cent certain that none of the wee-raptors are going to move back in.

The inside of the oven is well seasoned but I'm not going to disturb whatever ecosystems have established themselves there. We haven't died of food poisoning yet.

Ah remembered

It's an embarrassing one. I washed a woollen blanket that my Mum gave us about 10 years ago and I've never washed. It's on the line.

I hope it is not now a Baby Blanket.

About This Thread

Most of you know the score. Much in the bizarre way Easter has come to mean Chocolate, Lent is mainly thought of as an opportunity to Give Up Chocolate. At least until Easter. You know what I mean, 'What are you giving up for Lent?' * I say NO to this. Away with the hair shirts and the deprivation. Let's embrace change and the NEW. Spring is a time of renewal - and restoration.

Soooooo..... you don't have to take up indoor sky diving like my partner's 90 year old mot...
