Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

There's an embarrassment of riches to pick from.

Nothing much from me - but I have put a load of dates in me diary - athletics meets I hope to attend. Will be ODD.

Will be especially odd to be two years older than last time, rather than just one. Am getting horribly near 70. Must check wave scores to see what I NEED.

I wrote a letter today. I can’t remember the last time I did that. I also bought myself some tulips. I love tulips.

I had a joke competition at school today as it’s Red Nose Day, and actually laughed at some 7 year olds jokes! My favourite was:
What do you call a very small Valentine?
A Valentiny!

My newt for today was running The Virtual Ashby Twenty. Longest run so far this year. Bit painful towards the end but I kept on going. :)

Me too hp :-) (tulips, not the letter)
Well done MM

My newt is asking my good for nothing manager for support - an issue that has been batted backwards and forwards at work finally got the better of me today and I referred it to my manager. She's always saying that she's happy to step in and support us, but as soon as I'd spoken to her I got an email from her saying that she didn't see how she could help. I was pretty firm in my reply, pointing out that all I had been doing was conveying messages from one side to another without a definite outcome, and it needed a decision that is not mine to make. Fingers crossed that by the time I'm back in work next week it will have been sorted.

Honourable mention to HP for writing a real letter, but Newt of the Day is WA for asking for support in a difficult situation. We should all do that more often, but it's really hard, especially if the person who is meant to support you has shown themselves to be less than useful.

About This Thread

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
