Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Great newts everyone!
Yesterday’s newt was getting the ping pong table out for the first time since last summer. Though it’s due to rain for several days so I might fold it up again! Such a lovely spring day yesterday :)

Thank you Raemondo.

Incidentally while booking the jab and of course exchanging on the house were newts that have relieved a great deal of stress and will each provide me with a follow up newt later in the month :-) the writing masterclass was fascinating. I'm probably never going to give JK Rowling too much to look over her shoulder about but it certainly inspired me to try to write something that could get published if I tried hard enough!

Yesterday’s newt was getting out on my motorbike and finally feeling at home in the saddle! I even braved the Orwell Bridge on the way home for the first time and hit a top speed of 70mph, Mr Jelly had advised my to tuck in behind a lorry and stay there but once we hit the proper dual carriageway and I’d built up speed I felt confident enough to overtake a few lorries! Glad I took the bull by the horns now, got to keep practicing going to book a lesson when things open up!

Don't aim to be Rowling, BBL, aim to be *good*.

(I know to some it may be an unpopular opinion with some or a common contrarian one, and of course she has made a lot of money, but her writing is gash and her stories super derivative. Plus she's a transphobic asshole)

LGJ, I just re-lived my getting over 60 mph and overtaking a lorry adrenaline rush when I was learning to ride a motorbike ☺️

Oh and me newt today: parcel just arrived with some newt snowdrops. I am a bit if a fan and have planted thousands in the garden this year. On my newt entrance and now almost everywhere else. They are such fabulously delicate yet extremely string and resilient things and great givers of hope. I needed them this year and fear I will need them even more next year!
So I also have a few special ones. They are quite expensive and can be temperamental, but I judt received the last of this years snowdrops. They are a light variety called twilight and as you can see still in full swing while all my others are going over so these late ones with olive/yellowy "green" bits should keep the interest going a bit longer.
Currently in my kitchen as the weather is horrendous!

About This Thread

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
