Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

The brilliant thing about a Zoom singing class is that no one else can hear you. :-)

Must be very odd teaching singing to people when you’ve got no idea what they sound like!

Saw my first narcissi and miniature irises of the year on this morning's run, I love this time of year! Also had to google the plural of Iris after typing narcissi and doubting irises, irisi? Me having having a moment over grammar or spelling definitely isn't a newt though!

My newt today will also be wearing my 'going to work' clothes because I'm going into the office for the first time since before Christmas. Will make a change from my 'dog walking' clothes, running kit or pjs anyway!

Look at it this way you Northern Newtjinglers: you now have a real advantage in 'firsts' spotting. :-) There is a big difference between what's in bloom on the south coast and what the likes of halfpint up in the Highlands see at various times of year. (I mean OBVS there is!)

No contest in gorgeousness as hafpint's photos always demonstrate.

Is there much of a difference east and west? I suppose it depends on just where you are.

We are definitely a bit later for spring blooming up here.

I’ve felt a bit gloomy the last couple of days and therefore lacking in newts. Today I decided to take my morning tea break outside which is a first. This is at the end of my street.

About This Thread

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
