Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

C Block - there's no place like it.

Better than Southern's "Please enjoy the sunshine" when you are about (with any luck) to get on one of their trains.

Morning All

We have been asked to pass on the following message:

There are 3 smoking shelters on site:

• x
• y
• z

You should not smoke anywhere else on site and especially not outside office windows.

Please note the below for your information in relation to forthcoming works within the main XXX building. Colleagues whose offices are based within the XYX should specifically familiarise themselves with the temporary arrangements. Thank You.

Having been in operation since the building was completed in 1998, we are very pleased to inform you that over the Summer the existing lift within The XXX shall be upgraded and replaced with a modern fresher looking lift which will also operate in a more sustainable way mechanically. The age of the existing lift means that despite regular service, it was getting ever more challenging to source replacement parts which resulted in occasions when the lift was inaccessible. This is not conducive to our Tenants and our own business operation of course and once the replacement programme has been completed, the new lift will eliminate this, however, the work does mean that there will be a period when the building will be without access to a lift at all.

The work to replace the lift will commence as of Saturday, 28 July 2018 when the removal of the current lift cart will take place over the weekend with the programme then continuing through to the completion date of Friday, 24 August 2018. Please note, the pure nature of the works does mean that we are expecting some noise disruption during this time, especially within the initial week of the project.

IKR?

I like this bit later in the email:

Whilst the lift is out of action, receipt of large sized deliveries, for example, furniture items, will evidently be trying. In view of this, we recommend that, where possible, delivery of such items be deferred to you if possible. Small parcels received will be delivered to your office by the Post Room personnel as normal each weekday, however, it will not be possible to deliver larger items as naturally due to Health and Safety it will not be easy to transport these.
