Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Apologies to all,

The gas to <our block> has been isolated at the main valve on site. Due to continues demolition works around us and old gas pipes within the underground site ducting a major gas leak was detected at the weekend.

We are all safe however this means we do not have radiator heating in the building stairwells and the showers are cold, apologies for this.

The site management have assured me all will be repaired and back to normal for the 2nd January when we all return after our Christmas break

Thank You

[the demolition work around us includes the flatttening a couple of weeks ago of the office block built by the government in 1941/42 for Frank Whittle as part of his complex for designing and manufacturing experimental jet engines during the war]

How the Grinch stole Christmas. El is going to be devastated.

###############

Hi,

We have received a number of queries from employees on the following:

• Bringing children into the office on Friday 22nd Dec
• Finishing time on Friday 22nd Dec for the festive period.

While not wishing to be XXXX's very own Grinch! I thought I would provide you with some guidelines that you can cascade to your teams.

As Friday is not Christmas Eve, we request that employees do not bring children into the office as it is considered a normal working day. We would also need to seek approval for insurance reasons etc. There are also a number of teams across the business that are completely focussed on MiFID II.

With regards to finishing for the day on Friday, while it is considered a normal working day, we suggest that all employees work until at least 3pm. The decision to let your employees leave early for the day, is down to local managers.

If you have any queries on the above don’t hesitate to contact HR Support.

Regards

As part of the review of our current office space and the development of a new workplace strategy to best support the business in the coming years we are undertaking a pilot utilisation study of the <location> office.

The study will measure occupancy levels across identified spaces within the building; and provide essential data and information to enable us to understand how well we are using the variety of spaces in the office. By showing areas that are heavily used and those that are under-utilised we can better manage our office space. This knowledge will inform the development of a new workplace strategy to best support our future business needs and aid interaction within teams and cross-team collaboration.

We have appointed <company> to carry out the study using new sensor technology. Small monitors will be installed on furniture to assess human presence by detecting movement in a ‘space.’ The sensors simply confirm the presence of people, indicating the space is occupied; they do not capture ‘who’ is in the space.

Sensors will be installed throughout the <location> office, including desks, kitchens, breakout areas, informal and formal meeting rooms. However, there will be NO coverage of washrooms.

The sensors will be installed during the weekend of <date> with the 6 week study starting on <date>, finishing on <date>. Please do not touch the sensors or attempt to remove them.

To ensure that we gather accurate data, please can colleagues remain at their current desks for the duration of the survey. Where it is essential to move desks, for instance a new role with a different department, please ask your line manager to discuss this with me in the first instance.

Details about the <other location> survey will be shared in due course.

Thank you for your support during the survey. Additional FAQs are below; otherwise please contact me if you have any questions.
