Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

C Block - there's no place like it.

Nerja is in southern Spain, Duchess, and is perfectly pleasant. The others not so much.

Greppers, even you must accept that Chelmsford is not the ideal holiday location. I think Cambridge is crap, not that it stops them.

It’s a strange choice of holiday destination certainly. There are reasons you might want to stay a day or two - cricket, V Festival, Hyland Fling - but not a holiday qua holiday no.

I know i'm a bit late to the party but on Friday we had our email about looking after ourselves at Christmas, you're fortunate that for some reason i can't cut and paste it, suffice to say, it is from "Asset Protection Department".

There is only one word i wish to use now, but i won't.

Merry Christmas & Happy New G(rrr)
[I have made a booking in Croydon (possibly via Booking.com) on Sat 21st of April for some reason and that weekend in April is possibly one of my most common hotel bookings...?]

Human Advent Calendar
WE’RE OVERLOADED WITH xxx - I’m afraid nominations are now closed as we have enough to take us through to 21 December – thanks to everyone who participated!!!

Remember you can give anyone a xxx award at any time – Recognition is not just for Christmas!

[Actually, I shouldn't be so Bah, Humbug. I quite like all the happy descriptions. And at least it's a bit tongue in cheek, not totally Corporsh*t. :-) G]

Fragile Do Not Bend
Oh goody a vision statement

————————

The Vision
By 2022, <department>’s workforce will be agile and fleet of foot,
with an enhanced capability around commissioning,
project management and customer insight and service.
Officers will operate with a commercial mindset and
political antennae. A growing number of staff will
build experience and talent for commercial acumen
and develop the skills to provide excellent services
to our customers but also to get the most out of our
services. Our workforce will reflect and represent the diversity of
the local workforce which makes up the communities
of <county>.

How it will feel to work in <department>
We want to create a culture in which you feel positive, capable,
confident, empowered, respected and resilient – you will know
and accept that we all have a bad day occasionally, but that will
not deter you. Most importantly, we want you to feel inspired.
<department>’s management will operate with emotional intelligence and will
be able to develop a conversational style of management, encouraging
dialogue and constructive collaboration.

It goes on in a similar vein.

I think I would have resigned if I'd received that.

This comes after a suggestion that we buy some charity Christmas cards:

"If you are interested please pop along to see Xxxxxon the 6th floor of xxx. Also available by order are calendars and small cuddly seals and parrots".
