It has today been brought to our attention that the pension welcome packs posted to you earlier this week by our external pensions administrator have the incorrect postcode, although the rest of the address is correct. This may result in either a delay in receiving your pack or, possibly, non-delivery of it.

The information we provided to […], the external pensions administrator responsible for posting the welcome packs, was correct. They are working now to understand how they made an error, but the postcodes they used were postcodes of […] employees.

In order to mitigate the risk of any personal information in the packs being misplaced and misused, our new pension provider, […], has already closed access to your pension accounts. They will be issuing you with new packs in due course with new log-in details.

So basically... We had some people on a training scheme and couldn't think what to give them as a project so we gave the task of doing HR's job for them

It's self service and it's the future. I do a lot of self service finance in my role, which if you knew me, you'd appreciate is, at best comical and at worst, woefully risky.
