Once a year, we require all employees to submit an annual acknowledgement of compliance with the Code of Conduct and complete online compliance training. This year’s training consists of three short courses related to similar topics. The first course covers the basics of Data Privacy and the standards of care we owe to individuals whose personal data we process – clients, claimants, employees and others. Data Privacy is currently an important topic as we plan for the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the EU by May, 2018. The second course covers Records Management and provides guidance on our updated records policy and retention schedules. The final course, which resulted from our collaboration with our colleagues in Information Security, will teach you the dangers of Ransomware.

[This one is actually in a laminated frame above the noticeboard. It's been there for about a year and half now, and all the old notices are still resolutely in place.]

[Somebody paid money for this...]
Being on the bus XXX talked about "being on the bus" when we met at our event in February. Some of you may recall that this theme comes from Jim Collins, the author of "Good to Great" amongst other books. He says "Greatness is not a function of circumstance. Greatness, it turns out, is largely a matter of conscious choice, and discipline"
In xxx I spent time with Jim Collins. At subsequent colleague briefings we discussed what we should do and what we should stop doing. For those that weren’t here at that time, or as a reminder for those that were, it was agreed that we should: • have the right people (in the right seats) on the bus • we should "fire the right bullets"
• we should validate and roll the flywheel
• we should keep the main engine running
• we should have disciplined actions urgently executed • continue to face the "brutal truths"
The things we talked about stopping were:
• anything that distracts us from our core purpose • not losing sight of the bigger picture
[We're usually quite good at avoiding corp bs, but there's quite a lot up there! G]

* we should put whoever wrote this under the bus and drive back and forwards until they are pancake flat. And then maybe fire the right bullets at them. And the flywheel.
I think they lost sight of core purpose, the bigger picture, and the plot a long time ago.
