Thanks for responses. Hopefully didn’t offend anyone. The question popped in to my head after thinking about races like the Devil o’ the Highlands that used to require a support crew.

Opened my Lakes/bg account with a cracking sub 6 trot out on leg 3 this morning, seems my legs still know how to climb and I can remember all the micro lines 😀. One of those days when being out on the Fells as the dawn broke was a privilege 😀.

I did a dawn leg 3 last year. Was a tough drive up but what views. Andy Berry and Ollie the collie showed me round - I was a mule.

They went from Wasdale to Honister direct after the leg! I slept. I saw Ed Norman and Huw Brassington (Dragons Back documentary) got round yesterday.

I saw them finish and wondered why one of them looked vaguely familiar.

Just caught up and read the suggestion of a BGR race! Heaven forfend.
It's disappointing that EB didn't manage the double BGR, but it is an incredibly hot weekend to have tried it. Just coming home from the lakes at the moment, and it was roasting.
I'm in the process of fixing my Achilles before attempting to properly build ascent / mileage though, so not doing anything major.

I’m prone to Achilles tendinitis but have some excellent exercises that work well (and quickly). Let me know if you want to try them

I may do that! I've got a plan of action which revolves around eccentric exercises, calf massage and changing my footwear, so hopefully it resolves soon.
