Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Lol Dave! Not sure I've ever purred! šŸ… But I do approve

It's warm in the Lakes and little or no cloud cover. Too warm for running. Glad I'm just chilling in the sun on Caldbeck Common with the thought it will be much more pleasant at 4.30 tomorrow morning!

Brew with a view. It's also the only spot in the Lakes without a queue I think. Though there is as good as one above me going up Carrock Fell

He’s well on for a sub 20 CW round. Let’s hope he hasn’t overdone it.

I’ve been following this thread on and off for a few years and have been familiar with the BG for several years. Since lockdown was was eased it’s been fascinating viewing following the BG and Wainwright attempts. Given recent successes in the BG, I’m going to ask the question that probably shouldn’t be asked: why hasn’t it become an official race?

Why would it become a ā€˜race’? It’s the Bob Graham. It’s like asking why hasn’t the horse become an apple? ;-)

God help us, the National Trust would go apoplectic at the merest thought of a race around the the BG route.

The attrition rate would be interesting .... over 50% perhaps? It's about 40% in the UTMB and the time cut-offs are more generous than the BGR.

I'm disturbed at the very thought of a race around the Bob Graham route, it's akin to swearing in front of your mum or spitting in church.
