Any guesses where he might reach today, ff? Seathwaite looks reasonable, Tilberthwaite surely too far .. unless I’m missing something

IMO the responsible thing to do would be to tell him (repeatedly) to stop and come back when he's learnt a bit more about himself and the challenge, rather than try to nurse him on with ad-hoc support and encouragement until something goes badly wrong.

he's not going to get anywhere today unless he gets a wriggle on. Maybe those with him yesterday have said something?

zp - I tend to agree, Seathwaite would be a relatively short day but Tiberthwaite is going to be a 12-15 hour day and it's already getting on. jda - I think our views are pretty much aligned! Rosehip - I wondered that too! There is an interesting thread over on the UKC Forum about this. Some interesting discussion about the whether it's a winter round if it finishes in March? And the conclusion that he is seemingly as unknown in the climbing/mountaineering world as he is in the running one. Someone found a social media post from early last year listing what he was going to do in the Alps last year, North face of Grands Jorrasses, North Face of Dru and a sub 10hr Mont Blanc (i.e. big impressive stuff), but there seems to be no follow-up which suggests at the very least he didn't have any completions. He does seem a bit of a social media adrenaline junkie. |

I've been following the link on UKC too - similar paradigm as here, half of the pundits are incredulous at how he's gone about this attempt, the other half are full of (grudging) admiration for his audacity and youthful enthusiasm ![]() Can someone update me as to his movements this morning? I see his tracker is stationary just below the Three Shires Stone, presumably he has met his support vehicle there? I guess he must have climbed back up The Band to Three Tarns, gone over Long Top, then POB and Cold Pike before dropping down to Wrynose? |

^^ But why would he do that rather than carrying on to Hard Knott? Must admit I'm not acquainted with that line over Little Stand .... I'm wondering why he dropped to Wrynose at all. I hope it's not game over.

Is he waiting for a weather window to do another short day? Heavy rain from dawn, torrential for a time with hail and possible thunder, finishing as snow, perhaps briefly to lower slopes. Will transition by late morning into showers coming in from the west, with hail or snow falling to low levels. |
