I've been suffering with Achilles pain since May last year. Keeps coming back and no money for more physio either. Physio had me been doing daily ice baths. So would be interested to hear about your calf issues geordiegirl as physio kept picking up tight calf with me while trying to treat my Achilles. Although I was ok ish after first run back on Monday. Achilles was sore in evening so ice bathed it. |

Somewhat amazed to be top of the 500 mile leader board, doubt it will last long, but I have to say it's great motivation.

Apologies Alice I thought that was the link I’d posted. I’ve updated now, the mileage chart you’ll only show if you put in 500m. FurryH I have to strengthen glutes and foam roller regularly as well as calf stretches. I stand facing a wall and lean forward hands on wall and kind of walk on the spot which warms up the calves. |

Tight calves here too, I often massage each foot for a minute with a tennis sized spiky rubber ball, loosens up the connective chain, first saw it on a running blog Fetch linked to one time ages ago

Thanks gg xx I'm aiming to become a regular parkrunner. I'm still building up to running 5K after a long break from running. We're away on holiday next week for a couple of months (!) and the plan is for us both to use that time to build up our running, so we can do parkrun on our return. Watch this space! |
