Kwala, it's really nice to 'see' you after so long since our paths last crossed. I believe you had mega injury problems a few years ago, and so you were sidelined from any running for a time. I hope things are much better for you now.

Ah! I forgot to mention that I went for a run this morning and did 4.25 miles on our local cycleway along the the Amman Valley. It included some intervals (6x200m.), and I'm glad that my speed is gradually coming back after having had Plantar Fasciitis for over 6 months.

That's right Ev - I have arthritis in my knee and had given up on running for a long time. After some gentle persuasion/nagging from a friend, I went to a First Steps course (like c25k) at a local club and now I'm back in the game. Knee is holding up nicely so far and I'm loving being back at it Glad to see you're still going strong

Well done Ev! Glad the PF is over with (fingers crossed) and it’s letting you get back to speed work.
I downloaded a 12 week training plan which takes me up to marathon week starting on 1st. So failed week 1.... but I’ll do my best to pick up and I’ll skip one of the longer runs on the weeks ahead - I’ve every confidence that it won’t be the only one ! I don’t feel like I’m starting from scratch I did a 13m early December so I have some distance in my legs.
First day back at work and shattered & I have someone coming to look at a desk we’re selling so maybe tomorrow I’ll get out for a decent plod.

GG, I can't say the PF has completely gone, but it's a whole lot better, and the heel pain is not too bad now. However I'm still restricting my runs to no more than 4.5 miles, and I sometimes pause my run for a moment or two. It was really frustrating, that I couldn't do the 2017 Fetch Mile at Cardiff, which is only an hour away. I trust you'll get on well with your training for the big M. Some schedules let you do a long run every 2 weeks, with a medium-long run on the week in between.

It is one of those injuries that doesn’t seem to fully go hopefully you’ll get to build the miles up again. I had heel pain just before the mara last year Physio said it was linked to my Achilles - enough to put the frighteners on me! I have to do a fair bit of calf warm up now if I do it’s not too bad but sometimes still have to stop and stretch.
Been out for a bit of a interval session today, nice 1m to the field and 3 x 0.1 intervals, 1m back and used lamp posts for intervals on way back too.
Got Ellie and took her for a little gentle cool down, she can’t run far or fast so ideal. She’s flat out now bless her paws.
Eeee well I’m now officially late for work and still need a shower!! Best fly.

I tried run/walk last night as suggested. I did a 90:30 seconds ratio. I managed the same 1.7 miles route 20 seconds faster and it felt much easier! Amazing!

Gg, when you’ve got a spare minute, could you please put the link to the league table in the sidebar? The one BanjoBax linked back on page 4? I’m having trouble finding it any other way. Thank you
