Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Thanks Westmoors - glad someone has been there and declared it 'safe'.

I'm slightly struggling to get my head around yoga and Pilates co-existing. Mrs P is a Pilates person and it almost seems like the opposite of yoga in a lot of ways. Chap in my yoga class once delightfully described Pilates as 'yoga with anger management issues'.

Do you need a mat? The Nuffield website say you don't but I suspect they might be lying. Plan currently is to leave my mat in the car so I can grab it if the need arises?

Fozzy, just thought of something to get the hips to start to open.

Lie on back with knees bent, feet together. Allow knees to fall down to each side as much as they can and allow gravity to do the work, keeping them that way for a short while. You'll feel a stretch in the inner thighs as well (adductors) Later on, work on doing this for up to 2-5 minutes to allow them to ease down gently.

Fozzy, I reckon you could benefit from doing some hip CARS (Controlled Articular Rotations).

They are basically movements that take your hips through a full range of motion which hopefully will improve if you do them regularly. There’s a lot of information online if you google it.

GregP The classes I went to, mats were provided by the instructor. But it wouldn't hurt to take your own yoga mat just in case.

I’m no guru, so can’t compare as such. I’ve done BB and enjoyed it; it was a gateway towards yoga for me. If you love yoga you might find it a wee bit “LesMillsy”? Definitely worth a go though.
