Thats great LD. Glad all is well.
Arlo going to meet the inlaws sprocker today for the first time. He can be a bit full on and doesnt always like other male dogs. We see them a few times a week and go on several holidays with them a year so they are going to have to get on.

We introduced Ernie to my sisters BT on neutral territory. They came to visit but we met at the beach to say hello before Skye came in the house. They usually rampage around the house/garden at intervals throughout our visits now until Skye tells Ernie enough. Good luck.

he is probably young enough to not threaten from a male perspective as yet but the older dog will probably put him in his place. I can remember being told to put Indi in with some older dogs at training and being very scared as they roughed him up, I was told they have to sort it out for themselves....... not sure tbh. I hope it goes well.

Hello, Boots escaped today and while skittering around on gravel outside, we think he hurt his carpal pads They both look like this. Should we take him to the vets? Or look after this ourselves, if we can look after this ourselves, what do we do? He doesn’t appear to be in any pain but he’s quite subdued and doesn’t want to play at all. Thank you for your advice.

Hmm, if this were my dog i would let him rest and recuperate. His pads may be soft from lack of exercise on hard / rough ground and will take time to get used to his new environment. He may have given himself a bit of a shock? Personally I dont think you need to do anything but watch and wait and see. Try not to worry.

Thank you D2, it looks like he's pulled the skin away from the pads a bit so we've bathed them in salt water. A vet friend of mine has suggested he gets some pain relief so he's going to the vets tomorrow

Ouch that sounds worse than I thought from the pic, poor boy, lots of rest and I'm sure the vet will help.

Any tips to help with the puppy biting? He is getting stronger and closer to drawing blood. Trying distraction with toys, making high pitxhed sound and then ignoring, been doing timeouts as advsied by the vet when he really starts up but just not having any luck. Timeouts calm him down but he quite quickly goes back to it.

Stand up and turn away alongside shoving a toy in the mouth was what we did. He still had wild moments. Tire him out. Walks but also training is really tiring for them.
