Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Look at that it’s about 3 weeks since I’ve stressed!

So I now have salt tablets which has settled my electrolytes worry

My next question is …. Sometimes in the past I’ve got to the not wanting to eat stage.

The section from my last CP is the longest so I’m going to take a sports drink extra for that stage. If I am at the bleurgh food stage, as long as I keep drinking and have taken on plenty of fuel early I should be ok?

Or is there any strategies to consider? Or is it just make yourself eat to finish!

You can't make yourself eat. Ditto the sports drink, you may not be able to take on something sweet. This is when something savoury might tempt you. As long as you have some plain water and some electrolytes then you'll be OK.

What's the distance from the last CP to the finish?

I very regularly get to that stage. It’s best to try and eat than not before you get to another problem but that’s easier said than done. Often it might be there’s something more appealing than other bits - for me particularly in warmer weather give me lots of melon!!

I think it’s 10-11m to the end.
I think from looking at the map it’s

Roughly 7 15 and 21 with the total 31.3m

In my head I’m thinking 3hrs per CP plus extra at the end whilst hoping for less! 😂

As long as you take some fuel on in the earlier stages then you'll be OK. But don't force yourself to eat more than you feel comfortable with at the time as that often leads to your stomach saying 'no more '

Little and often, there's a lot to be said for the one jelly baby per mile strategy 😋

Thanks shades

My training strategy has been eat every 30 mins drink every 15, salt tab 1 per HR

Although I will start with high 5 so won't take the tabs to start with and if I take a sports drink at the end I will miss one as they have sodium in too

As long as your happy with one salt tab per hour.

We're all different. In normal temperatures I take 2 in a marathon, maybe 3 in very hot weather. Maybe 3 in a 50k.

I'm just going on what I've been drinking

The marathon next week will help!

Everyone's needs are different. I'm not a salty sweater unless we're 30+ degrees 🥵
