Nice work @Blister and good luck with your goal. Definitely jealous of how quickly you can get your 800 speed down. My 800 PB is 2:10.55 from 2021 in a race where the first 300 felt horrible, I felt great from 300 to 600 where I did too much as I was leading at about 600. Finished fourth. Winner ran 2:06.27, 2nd ran 2:07.15, third ran 2:07.44. Watched them disappear into the distance with no ability to react 😠|

Thanks SPR. I know that feeling of people disappearing into the distance! I've done a few 800s where I've completely blown up by 600m, and I'm trying to hold everything together to get to the finish line. When I ran my PB (2.02.73) I felt crap before the race, I'd recently driven back from Glasgow after watching the Commonwealth Games and then had to drive 2.5 hours to London. But everything just fell in place and I paced it perfectly - 60 through 400, then 1.31 through 600 and then held on for dear life.

800 is something else for that no ability to react feeling if you go too fast. I did go from 2nd to 6th in the last 100m of my 1500 PB race last year (after going from 5th to 2nd from 400 to 100), but only finished a second behind 2nd who was right on my shoulder at 100 so not quite the same feeling. Your PB sounds like the perfect race. |

Yesterday's session was 2 x (3 x 500, ~90 sec rec) ~ 4 mins rec. The recoveries were a few secs longer for me as I was leading the group so went off someone in the middle of the group. 88.4, 87.6, 88.6 (4:24.6) 88.2, 89.8 86.4 (4:24.4) 5th rep could have been better (and still finished that strong was just slightly slow to 400) but otherwise good. Hopefully I can run a 1500 around that pace or better this time next week. |

It's a strange feeling running a PB while also getting beaten in a race. When I ran my 1500m PB (at a BMC race) I was put in the A race, paced at something ridiculous like 63 a lap. Obviously, I was in last place from the start, but I still ran the first 400 in 66 and finished the last 300m strong and I've never run that fast again in my life - but to onlookers at the time, it would have looked like I was having a bad run. Great session and nice consistency with those splits. I'd say you're in at least 4.24 shape, maybe even better. |

Good training @SPR and good improvements @Blister I was last when I did my 2.02 PB also! It was a Jubillee cup thing at Mill Hill, I was out on lane 8 and weirdly Dave Bedford was just next to me leaning on the fence. Had a couple of words etc.. Southern masters at Battersea Monday night, 62 I think for the 400 and another 4.25 for the 1500 20 mins later. Annoyingly the Dragonfly 2 are way nicer underfoot than the Elites. |

Nice work @LBAC Si, did you use the elite for the 400? I expect they'd be faster there even if the standard 2 feels better underfoot. 400 and 1500 is a tough double! Thanks LBAC Si and Blister, hopefully the training translates to race times. Just done 2 x (4 x 200, 90 secs rec), 4 mins then 300. 34.2 (no warm up!), 32.3, 31.3, 31.2 32.3, 31.3, 30.7, 31.1 48.0 Another good indicator for next week. I ran what was then a PB for 1500 (4:48.4) in 2012 at the County champs, I was last by 17 secs! |

I love the Concept and the acoustic version of Everything Flows but have they ever made a bad record?!
