Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

That’s a good plan, bigleggy. You know yourself well. 1% improvement a day is more sustainable than changing everything at once and your brain fighting back.

Good work. I found the problem. I have had a knee issue bothering me and rather do the thing that sorts it (Walt's ITB stretches, thanks for asking), I have been running in a degree of pain for the first few minutes and avoiding putting any pressure on the knee aka stretching. So... yesterday, a good number of Walt's and today, whilst not pain free, much better. Today's stretches done :-)

The consistent habits aren't showing any rewards yet. I'm trying hard to be patient, but I'd expected a bit of a downward turn on the scales or a cm or 2 off. Next week maybe...

Takes a while on the scales. Always frustrating. I have been much better at stretching this week :-)

I’ve just discovered this thread. What a good idea. Each year I join a group for an activity challenge in March. I usually aim to run or walk a certain number of steps each day. This year I’m on crutches after breaking my foot so I’ve decided to do stretching every day as my challenge. That would seem to fit here too.

That sounds like the perfect challenge under the circumstances, CK2. I hope your recovery is going well and to plan.

I’ve just finished it and I got a lot from it. It was easy reading/listening (I’ve got the paperback and the audible version). He refers to Tiny Habits occasionally, which I also thought had some useful nuggets in it. They certainly help with understanding what a habit is, how to grow one and how your brain reacts.

About This Thread

A thread for any who wants to improve, develop or change. Significant change grows out of small good habits done consistently. Consistently doesn't mean 100% perfection but does require effort and repetition. It takes time, dedication, healthy decisions and maybe some sacrifice.

Set a realistic outcome/goal/target/identity.
What habits do you need to do consistently to enable you to reach that outcome?

Start - focus on the right habits, make them your priority every day. Record each d...
