Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Great photo Solo You're flying and you look so happy.

Grizzly pics from you, Hills of Death (HOD), literally. That looks like a tough mudder.

I did my first 30k run tonight, 20k with a friend; we had to run fast for 5k to make it to our next appointments; 6k slow with the beginners and then 4k easy home. I only need a little fruit bar for it and about 0.3 L of liquids.

Btw great 10k tipsku - blazing fast! I'd be thrilled with a time in the 43s.

On the racing before a marathon question, I'm a fan of a 10k race or two in the month before a marathon if I can make them fit. Distance wise it's helpful for training running threshold pace and more marathon specific than a 5k. Plus I have never run a good 5k while marathon training even though I've run a good 10k so there's that!
